You clean up dog waste in customers' yards. Each visit follows the same steps in the InsightScoop app: arrive and check in, take a photo at the gate, pick up the whole yard, bag the waste and take a photo of the bag drop, photograph stool samples when the customer has wellness tracking (the app walks you through it), then mark the visit complete.
Offers come to you in the app for yards near the zones you pick. Each one shows the pay and the distance before you accept.
None. You are an independent contractor (paid on a 1099), not an employee, so there is no guaranteed number of hours and no minimum. You earn for the visits you accept and complete.
Be aware of how much work there is today: InsightScoop is starting with a Twin Cities beta capped at 50 customer yards across the whole program, with a wider launch planned for Spring 2027. Early on there may be only a few visits a week near you.
Only if you want it to. When you apply you choose your days (every day, weekdays only, or weekends only, or any mix) and your time window (mornings, afternoons, evenings, or any time). Visits are offered to scoopers whose days and windows match, and you never have to accept an offer.
Yes. You pick your zones, days, time windows and the most stops you want in a day, and you can change your availability later in the app. Nobody assigns you a shift.
Once you accept a visit, the customer is counting on you. If you accept a recurring yard you become its regular scooper until you release it, and releasing late or missing visits counts against your account.
Each offer shows the base pay for the visit before you accept it. Base pay runs $5 to $30 per completed visit depending on the dog count, the yard size and the service schedule: $7 to $20 for weekly-service yards and $5 to $10 for daily-service yards. A $0.75 PPE allowance is paid on every completed visit, mileage is paid at 72.5 cents a mile for your route (from home, between stops, and back), and tips are added on top. First-time cleanups pay from $22.05, and dog walks pay $8 for an add-on walk or $13 for a standalone walk, before mileage and the PPE allowance.
Example: a weekly one-dog yard pays $9 in base pay, which is $9.75 with the PPE allowance, plus mileage. That is one example, not an average. Pay is per visit, not per hour: how many offers you accept and how close together they are decides your week.
Completed visits are reviewed, then paid out every Friday to your bank through Stripe.
You must be at least 16, pass a background check, finish a short online training with a quiz score of 80% or better, and sign the Independent Contractor Agreement. You need a smartphone for the app and a way to get around: a car, a bike (zones within 4 miles) or on foot (within 1.5 miles). If you drive, the Independent Contractor Agreement asks you to hold a valid license and keep your own personal auto insurance, which the company does not provide.
We ship you a starter kit ($60) with nothing to pay up front. It is taken from your pay at $3 a visit over your first 20 visits.
